The NATIONAL COCKATIEL SOCIETY, INC. was founded in 1983 as a non-profit organization for education on all aspects of keeping, breeding, and exhibiting cockatiels.

You can enjoy two of our most recent bi-monthly Journals with color cover photo now available in the GCCBC Library. This publication also provides information on Pet Birds, Nutrition, Breeding, Genetics, Handfeeding, Veterinary, Legislative and Exhibition topics.

Closed traceable bands are available to members for a small fee, as well as items from our Sales Store, such as water cups for show cages.

Please visit us on the Internet at http://www.cockatiels.org for Tiel Talk message board, which has had in excess of 26,694 visitors since April 26th,1999. Tiel Chatter is also available, where the chat messages go directly into your mail box as well as a real time chat. An article on rearing baby cockatiels from day one is available, as well as many articles on diseases, cockatiel behavior, etc. There is a box to click on for information on making your reservations for the National Cage Bird Show coming up in November.

A single membership is $18.00 per year and a dual (two individuals at same address) is $20.00. Your Journal will be sent bulk mail, and if you desire First Class mail please add $8.00.

As representative for the State of Illinois, I encourage all novices to join us at our at our upcoming show the end of October. Now is the time to start preparing your tiels for the show.
